THE CONTEXT
Tuberculosis (TB) is a serious global health issue, claiming over 4,000 lives each day. Early detection of TB screening and testing is critical to saving lives. Despite that, many patients are inaccessible. According to statistics from the National TB Program, Vietnam ranks 11th out of 30 countries with a high burden of TB in the world. Although being a province with leading GDP, Hai Phong detects more than 2,000 TB patients, and over 90% of TB patients are cured, but the dropout rate is still high.
THE SITUATION
TB & Lung Disease Hospital Hai Phong in Vietnam specializing in the treatment of lung diseases. However, the hospital faced several challenges in combating TB.
There was a high volume of patients coming from the province (around 50,000 patients) and a shortage of radiologists.
There was also a need to perform screening in rural areas using portable devices and to prioritize cases with TB radiological indicators.
THE PROPOSAL
